In case you hadn’t heard, the Royal Wedding was last weekend. This week, we’re giving you our gifting etiquette inspired by the Duchess of Sussex herself, Meghan Markle.
TIMELINE //
We’ve all heard that sending a wedding gift is still appropriate a full year after the date. While you may have friends or family that stand by this philosophy, we’re here to squash that rumor. Take it from the experts; while people still send gifts one year following, they should really be sent either prior to or within three months after wedding date. Don’t sweat it, this means you still have plenty time to curate a BOXFOX for the Meghan Markle in your life!
THE GIFTING PROCESS //
While most brides have a wedding registry, it’s not customary to send a gift off of it. You’d be surprised at the number of brides who appreciate guests who think beyond the scale of the registry. The key here is to keep it personal; if you’re going to purchase a gift separate from what the bride has listed, make sure that it’s something of sentimental value that you know she’ll appreciate and find useful.
Meghan Markle in mind, we’ve curated gifts on behalf of the guests from her life before her Suits and Duchess Days. (Spoiler alert: OUR FOXES ARE HUGE FANS!) //
The College BFF //
This curation is a nod to the Duchess’ alma-matter, Northwestern. In the spirit of the purple and white University colors, we’ve curated the perfect gift from her college BFF including a lavender BKR Watterbottle, Lapcos Collagen mask for that post-wedding and pre-honeymoon glow, coupled with Herbivore’s Orchid Oil, Compartes Rosé Wine bar inspired by their first legal drink, a nightstand candle, and most importantly, Lavender Le Pens to remind her of all their late-night finals study sessions.
The Sorority Sister //
Like Meghan, a few of our Foxes are proud Kappa Kappa Gammas. This next BOXFOX is inspired by the Kappa blue including a Lapcos Aqua facemask, a TonyMoly laminating facemask, a Rifle Paper Co. globe keychain to reminder her of her time as a Global Ambassador, Voluspa’s Casa Pacifica blue candle, a blue Tocca hand cream, and most importantly, the Kappa symbol of the Key. To celebrate her big day, we’ve included wedding bell cookie cutters, a Pinch Provisions Mini-Mergency Kit for the last-minute hiccups, Champagne bubbles in celebration of her big day, and of course, blue and white pearls to celebrate her next chapter as Duchess of Sussex.
Feeling inspired to cement your status as the best wedding gifter of all time? Build it and we'll curate it to perfection.
