How to Help Los Angeles

How to Help Los Angeles

Posted by Chelsea Moore on

Calling this past week heavy is an understatement. BOXFOX is born and bred here in Los Angeles and us and our team are grieving the unimaginable losses in our community, processing what this means for the county we love and exploring how to be helpful. Our hearts are with the countless families (many of which are friends and friends of friends).

It feels silly to write about business at all but being there for others, even when you can't physically be there, is why we exist. We've leaned in to how we can help and the fact of the matter is, its too big a job for one. And it is extremely overwhelming. But even the smallest acts will add up. We saw a quote encouraging folks to treat one family the way you'd want to treat all families if you could. That will be our approach. Every small act of kindness compounds, whether it's emotional, physical, monetary. It all matters. We'll continue to list great opportunities and organizations and different ways our team has been called to support here.

In the meantime, we're here for you if you need us. Los Angeles is so vast and diverse, each neighborhood uniquely its own. Regardless of that, we've never seen efforts to help be this generous and so quickly coordinated. The Palisades and Altadena might be on opposite sides of town, but it's time like these we're reminded, county-wide, we all ride for each other, unconditionally.

For our many customers outside of Los Angeles looking for ways to contribute, we'll continue to update our favorite organizations below. There are so many more out there doing the good work too!

Organizations:

SupportLAFD.org

CalFireFoundation.org

Baby2Baby.org

Pasadena Humane Society

Opportunities:

Volunteer

Donate (we'll be updating this with a list of vetted family gofundmes)
