It’s no secret - weddings are kind of a big deal around here. Whether you’re sending a bridesmaid ask, rallying your groomsmen, thanking a vendor or sending a special engagement gift - we love being a part of your special moments. So it’s only natural that we were super excited when one of our own Foxes got engaged recently. Why? Two words: bridesmaid gifts. We love watching what our own employees create for life’s biggest moments. We sat down with our Business Development Manager, Claire to learn more about the inspiration behind her boxes and how her work on our corporate gifting team has influenced what she picks and how she curates.
Claire is getting married at Dancing Pines in Truckee, California in July 2020. She and her fiance, Loren, chose the venue because of its proximity to picturesque mountain scapes, deep blue lakes and fresh air. An avid lover of nature and the outdoors, she’s going for an elevated camping theme with her wedding decor and ambiance, using the beauty of the venue and the colors of nature (blues, greens, and terracotta) to influence the aesthetic of the day.

Q: What was the inspiration behind this particular curation?
A: If there’s one thing I’ve learned while working at BOXFOX, it’s that our curations always create an experience for the recipient. Each item in the box plays off another to bring the gift to life. This is especially true for a lot of our corporate orders, where curating a gift around a location or theme is necessary. That’s the inspo I used for my personal bridesmaid ask! My wedding is taking place in a beautiful and secluded outdoor setting on the Truckee river. My fiance and I are really looking forward to creating a multi-day getaway experience for our guests. Overall inspiration was Lake Tahoe, Truckee and the surrounding areas, and the vibe I was going for was “campfire chic.”
Q: How did you select the products for each Bridesmaid BOXFOX?
A: Once I knew the theme and direction I was going for, I let our amazing Build a BOXFOX inventory do the rest. When building a BOXFOX I always try to give something they can use immediately upon opening, and then items they can enjoy on a daily or monthly basis and be reminded of the recipient. Q: Was it more difficult building BOXFOXes to gift your friends versus your corporate clients?
A: We actually get a ton of corporate requests for the camping theme because it’s a fun addition to a company retreat or offsite, so I had a general sense of what I wanted to include. Not to mention, we recently launched one of my favorite pre-packed boxes THE CAMPFIRE. Creating these was great practice for putting myself in the recipient’s shoes and getting creative with a theme. I think it speaks to the fact that we can curate ANY type of corporate gift, no matter the ask.
Q: What’s your recommendation for anyone looking to build their bridesmaids boxes with BOXFOX?
A: Follow your gut! Put yourself in the shoes of your bridesmaids and think about things they’d like and actually use in the time leading up to your wedding. Then, try to draw in elements from your big day, like location, color scheme or time of year, to really make it all come together. At the end of the day, there’s always something on BOXFOX that will blow them away - whatever your budget may be.
