Anagelino foxes, it’s almost mid-August, so you know what time it is-- time to get out your planners to make SURE you take down all these amazing FREE Los Angeles August events! As always, we are here to help you make the most of the last month of summer.

A U G U S T  1 1 // Summer Nights in the Garden // Natural History Museum

From 5pm – 9pm, get your summer on celebrating all things summer in the enchanting Nature Gardens at the Natural History Museum in L.A. Enjoy an earthy cocktail as you listen to live music and participate in nature and science experiences.

A U G U S T  1 2 // Downtown Pomona Art Walk and Farmers Market // Pomona Arts Colony

Experience the diverse array of components of the artist community by visiting dozens of galleries, talking to artists about their latest exhibits, and enjoying the shops and restaurants open late! You might even do a little art and jewelry shopping, too!

A U G U S T  1 2 // 5th Annual Summer Block Party // Malibu Country Mart

Help Malibu celebrate the fifth year of its free block party by participating in some sunny summery activities with your family or friends! Event runs from 12pm – 3pm.

A U G U S T  1 3 // CicLAvia // San Pedro meets Wilmington

Support good health, vibrant public spaces, and active lifestyles by participating in CicLAvia (presented by Metro), America’s largest car-free streets program. Explore the map here, and make sure to bring your bicycle! Event runs from 9am – 4pm.

A U G U S T  1 6 // FLIXatFIG Screening of “Parent Trap” // FIGat7th

Enjoy a FREE screening the beloved Lindsay Lohan hit for FLIXatFIG’s August screening. While the movie runs from 7pm – 9pm in the TASTE Food Hall, be sure to enjoy a live DJ and happy hour outside starting at 6pm.

A U G U S T  1 7 // Twilight Series Featuring Warpaint // Santa Monica Pier

Be sure not to miss the LAST Santa Monica Pier-hosted Twilight Series featuring free concerts every Thursday during the summer. Bring your best bottle of wine and a yummy picnic to enjoy watching the sunset before the event starts 7 pm.

A U G U S T  1 8 // Dance DTLA: Dance Downtown // Grand Park

Ever wanted to learn how to Argentine Tango? Now’s your shot! Bring your best friend, beau, or even come alone and enjoy a night of dancing under the stars in downtown L.A. Event runs from 7pm – 11pm.

A U G U S T  1 9 // Family Day: Art for Good // Hammer Museum

Our FAVORITE always-free admission Hammer Museum is hosting their annual Family Day soon! Spread the joy of art among your family by attending this art-filled day—packed with art, music, improv, performances, and more! Event runs from 11am – 3pm.

A U G U S T  2 0 // Red Bull Soapbox Race Los Angeles // Elysian Park

Entertain yourselves by watching this globally held race! While L.A. streets are infamously known for their bumper-to-bumper traffic, Elysian Park will be completely transformed for this one day as 70 non-motorized hand-made soapbox crafts will race against each other! Pits open at 9:30am, the race begins at 11am, and the awards ceremony starts at 4:15pm. Parking at Dodger Stadium.

A U G U S T  2 1 // Partial Solar Eclipse Viewing Event // Griffith Observatory

Guys. This is exciting. Solar eclipses rarely occur and are rarely viewable, but Angelenos are lucky enough to get the full view soon! Be blown away with the sights up above as you watch from Griffith Observatory’s front lawn from 9am – 12pm. The Stellar Emporium will also be open to sell eclipse viewers!

A U G U S T  2 5 // Summer Nights in the Garden // Natural History Museum

Couldn’t make it on August 11th? Luckily, you’ve got one more opportunity to enjoy a nature-filled summer evening in the beautifully unique Nature Gardens. Event runs from 5pm – 9pm.

A U G U S T  2 6 // OFF THE 405 featuring Savoy Motel // The Getty Center

Be sure not to miss the last of the Getty Center’s annual outdoor summer concert series at the end of the month for a night of memorable L.A. views amidst sophisticated architecture, a live band, and fresh cocktails and food for purchase. Event runs from 6pm – 9pm.

A U G U S T  2 6 // L.A. Taco Festival // Grand Park

Hosted by Jovenes, Inc., L.A. Taco Festival is dedicated to solving the problem of youth homelessness, with all proceeds going towards creating homes and community for the homeless youth. Come enjoy some of East L.A.’s most delicious tacos! Who knew that eating a taco could help support the youth homeless population?!

A U G U S T  2 7 // 18th Annual Elvis Festival // Historic Main Street, Garden Grove

Come enjoy this all-day event of musical tributes to Elvis Presley! Free parking, too! Event runs from 9am – 6pm.

A U G U S T  3 1 // Summer of Music featuring Strange Days // Redondo Pier

Don’t miss the LAST free concert at the Redondo Pier hosted by The Redondo Pier Association! Festival is at the west end of the pier and runs from 6pm – 8pm.
