Since graduating from college 4 years ago, getting together with our friends has become more and more difficult. With different jobs, schedules, and commitments it became nearly impossible for us to find a time when everyone was free. After months of sending dates back and forth, one friend joked that we were all only “free” when we were sleeping. Fast forward to one week later and, instead of catching an extra hour of shuteye we were all dragging ourselves to The Butcher’s Daughter to meet for a 8 am meal. Early morning breakfasts have now become a tradition for us, meeting up twice a month in Venice for coffee, eggs, and friendship. Brownie points always go to the psycho that gets there the earliest.
Yes, anything before 8 am is grossly early...and yes, of course we still struggle to pull ourselves out of our comfy beds by 6. But taking the time to meet up with our closest friends is seriously the best way to start any (early) day. After indulging in lemon buckwheat ricotta pancakes from Gjelina, breathing in fresh air, enjoying the ambiance, and catching up with our favorite people, we are guaranteed to have a productive and fulfilling day. While we still can't hang that well when we get up that early for morning runs or to walk Eleanor - trust us when we say that this tradition of ours is well worth setting our alarms.
Sometimes during our hectic weeks, we lose track of what’s important. Here at BOXFOX, it’s our mission to create stronger, meaningful relationships. We always try to go the extra miles to ensure this happens... Even if it means we losing an extra hour or two of beautyrest.
Sincerely yours, The Breakfast Club
