Morning Routines // How Our CSO Gets Ready For Work

Posted by BOXFOX TEAM on

For some of us, waking up before a long day at the office means hitting the snooze button on our alarm 5+ times, chugging down our morning coffee, and rushing out the door.

When it comes to waking up and getting ready for work, our CSO, Sabena has her routine down to a science. From smoothies to Classpass, her morning routine is essential for her daily productivity. Read on as she shares with us how she gets ready for work.

 Clearing My Mind

The first thing I do when I wake up is turn on my diffuser, the newest addition to my bedroom. I usually fill it with one of our Vitruvi Essential Oils because I feel that starting your day off with aroma therapy is a really great way to get refreshed and into a good headspace.

 Journaling

For me, writing is therapeutic, it’s my version of mediation. Once my diffuser is going, I pull out my Five-Minute Journal and write. My writing varies from setting my intentions for the day to just getting anything that’s been on my mind on to paper and off my chest, something I do both when I wake up and when I go to sleep.

 Morning Cleanse

Once I’m up and out of bed, I brush my teeth and wash my face. I’m addicted to all of the Lapcos face masks. My favorite at the moment is the Collagen mask. I’ve been using that one regularly in the mornings to add some brightness and glow to my skin so I look refreshed for the day.

Smoothie

I’m really into making smoothies, especially since I like to workout every morning. Having something that’s healthy and nutritious to keep me energized during a workout is necessary. As a big fan of Be Well by Kelly, I’ve recently been using her Fab Four Smoothie recipes to make sure I’m getting all of the necessary ingredients into my morning shakes. The recipes are really easy to make, too; I just blend up my fab four proteins, fats, fibers, and greens and throw the final product into my Ban.do Gold Sip mug before I head to my workout.

Classpass

It’s safe to say I’m obsessed with Classpass. I love it because I’m one of those people that needs to switch up my workout routine in order to stay motivated. Having the app has allowed me to not only discover a variety of studios and workouts, it’s helped me figure out what works and what doesn’t. Plus, I don’t think I’d have the motivation to hit the gym on my own if I didn’t feel held accountable by Classpass. It’s made me really grow to love working out! My Classpass favorites: Body by Simone, FlyWheel and Burn60.

Breakfast

I’m not one of those people that can leave the house without eating, especially after an intense workout. Before I head out for work, I have to make breakfast. Something as simple as throwing eggs onto a pan with Avocado will do the trick for me!

Office Commute

Because my commute is from Brentwood to El Segundo, I’ve gotten really into Podcasts. I love listening to Podcasts because it’s a great way to pass time in the car while learning about a topic totally new or one that I’ve wanted to learn more about. My favorite one at the moment is Guy Raz's "How I Built This" on NPR.
