Body - Workout
Did you tell yourself you’d join the gym on January 1 with the intention you would work out 5 days a week? How’s that going so far? Unless you’re our CMO Jenni Olivero, who has the most insane workout motivation in the world, you’re probably human like the rest of us and need a little push to get going! Take advantage and try out new classes or studios, with deals from Class Pass, Core Power, and Soul Cycle. Or think outside the gym and take up hiking (see Michael’s recent hike!) or running. Jenni’s fitness routine is to plan her runs and workouts ahead of time and write them down in her pretty journal, that way she’s accountable to herself and motivated to check it off her list! Take a page out of her book (literally!) and start fresh with a new Appointed Co. or Rifle Paper Co. notebook!
Mind - Read more!
We all get caught up during a great Netflix binge watch (Yes I am still watching! Yes I am re-watching The Office AGAIN!) But remember back in elementary school when you used to read for FUN on the weekend? (Well Chelsea and Grace do because they were total nerds.) Give your mind a throwback and get back on that reading grind! Not only will you probably learn something - you’ll improve your memory and keep your mind sharp as a tack as you age! Our team’s new favorite is “The Sun and Her Flowers” by Rupi Kaur.
Soul - Volunteer
Did you resolve to be a “better person” in 2018? A great step toward that goal is to up your volunteer game! Here are some LA volunteer opportunities you should check out.
Heal the Bay - Nothing But Sand Beach Clean Up
Be apart of an amazing organization and team of dedicated environmental volunteers during Heal the Bay’s Nothing But Sand Beach Clean Ups. (What’s better than spending the day at the beach?) Every third Saturday of the month, Heal the Bay hosts this event at a different beach. Make sure to register before and sign a safety waiver form!
Take time to give back to a homeless student in real need of your help with School on Wheels. After a quick online orientation session and in person training, you’ll be matched with a student in your region and begin tutoring them! This is a great opportunity to be a role model and help kids who need it most stay on top of their school work. All they ask is a weekly one-hour per week commitment and willingness to commute to your tutoree!
