Tips from Our Founders // Finding Inspiration

Tips from Our Founders // Finding Inspiration

Posted by BOXFOX TEAM on

Running your own business requires a ton of thinking, planning, and most importantly, creativity. In the midst of the chaos that is work and life, we sometimes hit a roadblock and need a little inspiration. This week, we turned to our founders to see how they find inspiration when their creativity is running low.

Here’s what they said //

Chelsea // CEO

Since I’m an extremely visual person, I find that some of my biggest moments of inspiration come from Pinterest. When I need ideas for anything ranging from a shoot to a simple curation, I go on a mad Pinterest dash. I find that seeing the different photos or certain themes help spark the creativity inside of me. On other days, I’ll crack open one of my favorite business books to think critically about another company. Reading about what other businesses are doing inspires me to apply my learnings back to BOXFOX.

Sabena // CSO

I’m big into journaling and find that it helps me bring out even my subconscious thoughts, which often spark a new creative idea! To me, there’s nothing that beats putting pen to paper to help me develop new ideas. I also think taking a long hot shower always gets the creative juices flowing because it’s one of the only times I feel like I’m totally “off.” As funny as it may sound, some of my best ideas have come from taking a shower!

Jenni // CMO

When my creativity is running low the first thing I like to do is pick up a few magazines. Martha Stewart Living, Sunset, and of course Vogue are my go-tos. It’s so simple, but there’s nothing like flipping through the pages of a new magazine. Besides the latest trends and absorbing articles, it means I’m taking time to slow down and sit back.
