In honor of International Women's Month, we're celebrating female founders (including ourselves, heyo self love!). We thought this would be the perfect opportunity to chat about who we are, and why we're here.
1. We Saw a Huge Need
After college, each of us co-founders had entered the “real world” with full-time jobs and limited time. It didn’t take long for us to realize that there really weren’t any affordable and efficient ways to sincerely reach out to all of our friends we hadn’t seen since graduation. At this point, eCommerce and social media had really taken off with new innovations, more functionality, and convenience. We had a dream to combine this new technology with one of the oldest gestures in the book: gift giving.
2. We Wanted to Create a Place That Made Us Happy
We’ve all had our fair share of great bosses and difficult bosses. Although each one has taught us valuable lessons in their own way, we decided it was time for us to call the shots. Creating a cohesive and supportive workplace was something we were passionate about from the start. In addition to having fun with the business, we also wanted to come to work every day feeling uplifted and inspired. We’re so proud of the environment we’ve created here at BOXFOX and genuinely get excited about coming to work everyday.
3. We Wanted to Employ Other Women
Being a GirlBoss is something we value here at BOXFOX. As three female entrepreneurs, we understand that being a woman in business isn’t always easy. It’s so easy to get discouraged by others, but we know that anything men can do, we can do better. Hiring inspired, optimistic, and hard-working women is a goal of ours. Not only do we have a female CEO, our staff is full of smart, driven women who support each other.
