Books We Love (& Carry!)

Books We Love (& Carry!)

Posted by BOXFOX TEAM on

This week, our founders weighed in on something that hits home to all of them—BOOKS (YAY reading)! When choosing products to carry on our website, Chelsea, Jenni, and Sabena all emphasized the importance of functionality, usefulness, and meaning, which explains why having books in our inventory is an absolute must. All three women have been obsessed with books for as long as they can recall; from stories that help guide them on their journey toward self-discovery, to experimenting with tasty recipes in the kitchen, and everything in between. Though they’re busy keeping our company afloat, our co-founders always make time to crack open some of their favorite books that might just become yours too.

Here’s what they said about their favorite books (all of which we carry!) //

Chelsea // CEO + Co-Founder

BOOK: Elements of Style

My favorite book we carry is the illustrated Elements of Style! My dad gave me his college copy when I left for school and as an English minor, it was essential in my writing practice. Now with the beautiful illustrated version, it's functional and its decor.

BOOK: Love & Lemons Cookbook

It’s hard to choose a favorite but I’m obsessed with the Love & Lemons Cookbook. The book features plant-based recipes organized alphabetically, “from Apples to Zucchini,” with the idea to make recipes from what you already have in your kitchen. I love buying seasonal produce from our local farmer’s market, so if I have a bunch of fresh spring asparagus I can flip through to the asparagus recipes and pick one of her delicious dishes. A lot of her recipes are southwestern/tex-mex influenced which is right up my alley. I also love that there’s at least one picture of every recipe!

Sabena // CSO + Co-Founder

BOOKThe Five-Minute Journal

My favorite book we carry is the Five-Minute Journal — I had seen it on our shelves for a little while and finally decided to buy myself a copy in an attempt to journal more. It has been lifechanging! It’s a very easy-to-use format because unlike a blank journal, this one is structured with the same sections every day. It's been amazing starting and ending the day with gratitude—not just thinking about what I'm grateful for, but actually documenting it. There’s a lot of power in putting that pen to paper. I also love the little quotes and “tips.”
