With the new NFL season officially underway and UCLA starting strong at 2-0, we thought we’d analyze what makes the perfect football viewing party. From charcuterie to attendees, we’ve got you covered. (Even though the UCLA Memphis game is on at 9am Saturday - seriously though NCAA?)
FOOD + DRINK
What’s a viewing party without an abundance of finger food and beer? Our favorites include a chili bar with all the toppings you could ever imagine (Tater tots? Sold!) Buffalo cauliflower, Ruffles, and onion dip are a must. And for those early morning games, we have football shaped cinnamon rolls! Done and done.
AMBIANCE
We’ve nailed the perfect Fall football vibe with our new AUTUMN + AMBER box. Light a few Incognito and Baltic Amber Voluspa candles, and offer our camel pashmina to your friend who forgot it was Fall and showed up in a tank top. But I’d recommend saving the Sugarfina for yourself - trust me, they’re that good!
If you’re trying to stay away from the “football theme” kitch (bless you), channel your inner Fall vibes with a few pumpkins and some seasonal flowers like Chrysanthemums and Dahlias. That way, your decorations last long after the party’s over!
GUEST LIST
One of the great things about sports is that it brings all types of people together. Whether you’re hosting your die hard Packer-fan in-laws, or reuniting with your Alma Mater teammates, football is the great unifier. So invite them all! It’s always a good time reminiscing on that Super Bowl victory or the good old days in the student section when you’re in good company.
WHEN YOU’RE THE GUEST
If you’re the one attending, make sure you don’t show up empty handed! Bringing a BOXFOX shows you value the hostess’s hard work and preparation - especially because you don’t subscribe to the Pac-12 network and would be stuck streaming it on your phone without her! Our new collection of THANKS boxes strikes the perfect tone - mini but meaningful. Plus, you can always use BUILD A BOXFOX to create a super personal thank you!
Most importantly, don’t quit on your team and ditch your viewing party! Pressured by their horrible performance in the first half of the UCLA Texas A&M game, Grace abandoned her precious Bruins and got tacos and margaritas to self-heal. Thank goodness there was a TV at the restaurant, and people didn’t give too many dirty looks when we obnoxiously did the 8-clap!
